MediPet ("we", "our", "us") operates the MediPet mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our app.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: Email address and display name when you create an account.
  • Pet Information: Pet names, species, breeds, weights, dates of birth, and photos you provide.
  • Medication Data: Medication names, dosages, schedules, and dose administration records.
  • Health Data: Weight logs, vaccination records, symptoms, and side effects you choose to log.
  • Financial Data: Expense amounts and categories you enter (we do not process payments directly — subscriptions are handled by Apple).
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, and push notification tokens for sending reminders.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide medication reminders and tracking functionality
  • To sync your data across devices
  • To generate vet reports and health summaries
  • To send push notifications for medication reminders
  • To enable household sharing features
  • To improve our app and services

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (powered by PostgreSQL) with row-level security policies. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure keychain.

We also store data locally on your device for offline access using encrypted SQLite databases.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

  • Household members: If you use the family sharing feature, household members can view shared pet and medication data.
  • Service providers: Supabase (database hosting), RevenueCat (subscription management), Expo (push notifications).

Third-Party Services

Our app may contain links to pet insurance providers. If you click these links, you will be directed to third-party websites with their own privacy policies. We may receive referral commissions at no cost to you.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data (via the app's Export feature)
  • Correct inaccurate data (via the app's Edit features)
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Export your data in CSV format

Children's Privacy

Our app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
